The law is quite different when it comes to a,"Public Figure," Also, freedom of the press gives news reporters quite a lot of latitude.
re: PROOF
The Obama folks went for court permission not once but twice. The first time it was not granted-very unusual. Perhaps, like Trump's immigration restriction, the second time the request was rewritten and it was granted.
Does anyone either a democrat or a republican believe they had the right to clandestinely listen in AND THEY DID NOT USE IT???????? The right to listen in would be limited BUT, since the conversations are not controlled, you would of course hear things not authorized.
