You might be right, but the problem is that is not the way that science works. Decisions are not made because of someone's experience around gay or lesbian people. There usually has to be a number of conclusive studies in order to remove something from a list such as this. Anecdotal evidence is never accepted as a legitimate reason to come to a conclusion in science.
