My concerns on this ban are a little different.
I understand the concern for Islamic terrorism. BUT we have been told a few things that just do not add up. First, we excluded Turkey from the list. If you research, you will find Turkey is about 100% Muslim, and maybe the centerpiece for terrorism activity.
Secondly, we are told this is a TEMPORARY BAN while the vetting process is insured to be rigerous. When will we hear about the results of the vetting process study, and who is doing that study ? From every expert I have heard our vetting is just about second to none.
I do agree that the paranoia is simply racism. This is not new your country, as you point ou, and we are not perfect, but how many days, months, years have we listened to our President tell us how bad Mexicans were, Muslims are bad. I hope we are not that weak to succumb to a candidate being able to tell us whom we should hate.
