Because, quite frankly, the far left extremists leave me cold and if there were more Republicans that were willing to stand up and not blindly follow the party line like yourself...we would have a sane POTUS and there would be an unstoppable/super majority of Republicans in Congress right now.
And I have never thought that a single party having that much control (even though it is what it took to pass ACA, as less than perfect that it is)...is a good thing.
I long for the days when the houses were controlled by opposite parties and it took compromise (which has now taken on the moniker of 'weakness') to pass bills that while no party felt totally satisfied with...but were usually the best for the majority of Americans.
The current scorched earth, take no prisoners, NEVER compromise philosophy that seems to drive both parties (but primarily a result of the last 15 years of being espoused by talking radio heads such as Limpbaugh/Hannity/Savage/et al)...has been to the great detriment of this nation.  |
We do disagree on issues, that I am sure of.
The hate that permeated this country, and this forum, is not just scary, it is petrifying to me.
It is clear I have NO respect for our President, not based on policies (most of which he gets from Bannon) but I watched a campaign for President highlighted by rallies yelling "lock her up" or verbal attacks on the countries first ammendment, with total out right lies being cheered and repeated.
The value of truth has been robbed from all of us by this person in the White House. He is a master at what he has done his entire life. I am sure in private, he can charm. I am sure he is not as hateful in private.
BUT, this I know...he has created in this country millions of followers who believe in lying, yelling, accusing and adoring HIM. That is scary beyond words.
That is easily manifested on this forum. Blacks, Muslims, immigrants, Clinton, Obama are all treated as simple trash. People actually believe what he has told them about each.
As far as I am concerned, the hate in this country is entirely his fault. Watch this forum...it does not matter the truth..it does not matter what is shown...these people WANT to hate. It is as if they tasted blood with Trump and the hate excites them. They adore this man, who in reality does not even deserve respect of any kind. He hurts people...if you adore and follow him, you want to hurt people. He spreads hate...if you adore and follow him, you want to hate. He is using the Republican Party to assist Bannon, etal, to do their damage to our country. They have stated it and now are using hm to accomplish it.
He has taught, and this forum is a classic example, his followers how to label everyone as something. You need to be labeled to determine whether you are evil or good. No measure of a person by their life, because maybe, just maybe, you might judge him on his 70 years of life and that would not come out good.
Listening is a totally lost skill. Using again, this forum, in the last week or so I have noticed posters, ususally anti Trump actually, supplying links to read. Responses simply validate that readers don't even read them. I have been trying to cut and paste some to give an idea, but when you read the resoponses, you know they never read it.
The country will have to deal with investigations for quite a bit longer. Note on here, the ignorance of Trumps responsibility. All investigations are either about an action of HIS, or an accusation of HIS. He has his obedient followers convinced that he is wronged with no creditation for that. He blames everyone else for his problems and I hate to say it this way...his ignorant followers simply say yes sir and March on.
I came back here because the hate of blacks, Muslims, anyone not lockstepping to Trump was palpable.
