Default Your view and your statement is at best far too simplistic

Didn't New York City just pass four year free college?
We are ex-long islanders. On a 50x100 lot with a 1200 sq foot house on it our real estate tax was just shy of 10,000 a year.
As I recall we also paid .13 per kilowatt hr compared to a national average 0f .07.

TRUE STORY-I was walking the streets of NYC on a brutally cold snowy day. I was talking to a friend and we were overheard by a street person-polite for a bum. This guy chimed in. He was obviously bright and well educated.
We asked him where he was from and he told us FLORIDA.
I of course asked him why he would come to NY if he lived in Florida. His reply was you can always get a free meal in NY.

Another time I was in a retail store that belonged to a friend. On the way over I passed a panhandler. While I was still in the store the panhandler came in to trade his change for dollars. My friend told me he does this 3-4x a day. A rough estimate and on a five day week this guy was taking in 35 to 40,000 a year TAX FREE PLUS WHATEVER HE GETS WITH FOOD STAMPS ETC ETC ETC ETC.

As hawaii does, perhaps NY should get smart and give them a one way ticket to ????????? FLORIDA??????????
