Our bird cage is in it's 13th year.

There are some small holes around and a couple of places where the screen has pulled away from where it is pressed.

The sun does not seem to affect the screen material like it does many other outdoor materials.

My initial reaction is to repair as required until there is a major deterioration (if ever).

What is the experience on screen life?
We had two sections that came apart from the frame...in addition to a few small holes elsewhere due to birds/squirrels. I had someone come in to repair; he said you should expect issues after about 7 years...our house was built in 2010 and faces west so it gets max exposure to elements.

Anyway, we had him replace the entire lanai rather than patch here and there over the next year. Went to a finer gauge screen.

In out travels we have noticed others with the same issues (separation) in our neighborhood (all homes built the same year.)
