I would take an educated guess that the average voter has had enough of the progressives "let's throw as much mud against the wall and see how much of its sticks" ploy..actually mud is not the word but in polite company.......

the average voter understands that the legislative process was meant to be slow and cumbersome but progressives are not engaged in this process and hence voters will tire of it quickly.
