My response, for the sake of this nation. There is indeed a deeper and pronounced struggle in the Democratic Party.
For some well placed Democrats the key political word is resist and resist anything Trump. Democrat leaders such as Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Maxine waters, John Lewis, and Thomas Perez are dealing in too many absolutes and their myopic view of resist only is hurting all of us.
There is no room for dissenters in their Democratic Party. For example take the issue of abortion. You cannot be an anti-abortionist and a progressive Democrat, according to the aforementioned. Well this does not bode well for Heath Mello, a democrat who is running for Mayor in Omaha and is an anti-abortionist.
It does not bode well for Jim Kessler, VP of Third Way an organization of moderate Democrats whose mantra amounts to "renaissance" not resistance" .
The Democratic party need to loosen up the social justice agenda and start focusing on how to past legislation that will grow this economy.
and to do that they need to push aside the bad and bias counsel of the Pelosi, Obama's Schumers Perez.....
True enough the Republicans have their issues also and they too need to push them through and out of the way for the nation's sake.
So once again why do I desire to see the Liberal (progressive) (Democratic) Party saved. Because we need rationale and competing voices from both sides of the aisle to bring forth effective, efficient and forward thinking legislation.

You seem to think we should have one party-THAT IS A DICTATORSHIP.
I believe that one should work for what they get and for what they need-AND I HAVE LIVED MY LIFE THAT WAY.
To support the current Democratic party which has become to party of U OOOOOOOO MEEEE-GIMMMMMEEEEEEE is for me to crap on my code of life.
Sadly, the democratic party has moved far left. Hillary, if any of her supporters read anything about her is and has been since college a SOCIALIST.
It is also sad that the republican party has moved far right.
To me, it seems the second amendment, right to bear arms, is a major issue. I do support the right to bear arms.
BUT, far too many republicans simply ignore THE FIRST AMENDMENT which prevents the government from establishing and enforcing any religion. ASIDE: the bill of rights, the first ten amendments, are in order of importance. I am PRO RIGHT TO CHOOSE. Those who want to remove the RIGHT to have an abortion in the end want to make a choice for others and they try to justify their disallowing freedom of choice for others on religious grounds. REREAD the first amendment. No one is forcing abortions.
I voted for TRUMP. I has been asked on these threads if people who voted for Trump are happy with their choice.
YES, I AM. Trump as I had hoped is left of the far right republicans and right of the far left democrats. Trump seems far right to some of you because Obama and Hillary are so far left. It is like being let out of an insane asylum and the outside world, THE REAL WORLD, seems crazy.
As to the democrats vs the republicans, to me it seems the democrats are more united than the republicans are. The reason it simple. THE REASON SHOULD NOT BE. The democrats have allowed people like SORROS to pull their strings. We as a country, have allowed only 5 major companies to control our major news sources. Of the five only one leans conservative and that of course is Fox. Aside: in the 1960's our major news sources were controlled by 49 companies and there was concern that it was too few.

This past election was capitalism vs socialism. Other than the fact that is does not work, socialism has a great deal of appeal. For proof it does not work, look at Greece, look at East Germany vs West Germany. look at North Korea vs South Korea.
