You need to visit the NRA website a little more often. They have plenty of information explaining gun ownership and safety, they have more than the "hunter argument".

Reducing the number of rounds in a magazine, will not reduce the gun violence. Take Adam Lanza's first victim, his mother, was shot 4 times in the head with a bolt action rifle. The Savage MKii magazine is only 10 rounds. She was most likely dead with the first round and he just put 3 more in her due to emotional "over kill". Another thing to consider; there are many areas in the country that already restrict the magazine size, I challenge you to prove those places are any safer than places that do not have the limit (Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, DC).

There are plenty of restrictions for firearms. The person has to be registered in the state (that process is supposed to eliminate the nut jobs trying to legally own firearms). There is a process of documentation for purchasing the firearm, there is a waiting period to reduce the chance someone is purchasing with emotional plans to do harm to someone else...
