Since 9/11, 72 people coming from the seven countries named in President Donald Trump's executive order have been convicted on terrorism charges.
17 of those who have been convicted claimed to be refugees, while three came into the United States as students. Twenty-five more eventually became American citizens

How accurate are these numbers? I'll let the so-called lefty experts do the research. Although, with Pelugosi still thinking that Bush is president and Waters thinking that Putin is invading N.Korea, I wouldn't put much stock in the left being any more accurate.
First of all, lets discuss the origin of the "statistics" you cite....

The source was originally the "Center for Immigration Studies", and then picked up by the WH and spread.

44 of the 72 were NOT convicted on terrorism charges at all.

28 of the 72 were convicted or pled guilty of terrorism related activities, actually the greatest majority were convicted helping finance terrorism, ie. sending donations overseas.

4 of the 72 were arrested overseas and extradited.

This was delivered to the media by Stephan Miller, the senior advisor to the President, but he neglected to fill in the blanks.

So the truth is that 28 were convicted of terrorism charges. 3 were implicated in planed attacks on US soil, and 1 was convicted of planning an attack on US Soil on US citizens and it was part of a sting operation.

Somalia: 20................16
Yemen: 19..............04
Iraq: 19..................04
Syria: 7..................02
Iran: 4....................02
Libya: 2...................0

I took your list and the second number is the REAL number of folks actually convicted of terrorism.

Somalia at the top should be mentioned as the place where we just lost a Marine, and word is that more are being sent there.

Bottom line is that the numbers being bandied about are fiction and have no basis in fact. This remember is over 16 years.

Seems to me, that reviewing vetting which is being done is a good thing. BUT, it also seems to me that we should trust our White House to present facts and not twist them for political purposes.

That number 72 was not picked up and published, thankfully, by any respected news sources, but certainly was spread around the far right wing.

Again, we should be able to TRUST the White House to supply tru information.
