Default One More Try at Healthcare

There have been a couple threads launched about the healthcare debate that started a bit of intellectual dialog but our wingnuts flocked in and made thread unreadable. I'm not sure if Viagra stopped working or they were breast fed and weened too early but it does render this forum as almost useless. Not sure why I'm reading it today. That said what do we do about healthcare in this country. My opinion, and that is all it is, is that the cost have not been addressed at all and I'm assuming that is because of special interest money. Jimmy Kimmel is getting a great deal of attention with his "no family be denied medical care, emergency or otherwise, because they can't afford to pay". On the surface that is hard to argue with. But if we dig a little deeper and say ok who will pay for the best pediatric heart surgeon in the state if family has no money or insurance? Should insurance companies, VA, Medicare means test and make people with means pay more on a sliding scale to take care of those without means? Should we cut back on military spending to invest in healthcare for all? Can we limit medicare, VA, Medicaid treatments that tax subsidies pay for? How about instead of medical industry investment profits qualifying for lower capital gains tax them as regular income? Should we discuss end of life care and it's costs? I think we should discuss all of these after initial dialog about today's costs. IMO
