You may not like the finish of concrete that has been ground down, it does not look like poured concrete. However, once it has been ground down you would have options for applying a new painted or stained finish. I am assuming that you have a painted finish now, and in many cases, these cannot be refinished, so grinding is the only option.

I cannot advise on grinding as I have not used this type of service, however, I did have our driveway painted by 'Driveways by Jay' with excellent results, he was even able to match the pattern and colors around 2 years later when we expanded the driveway.
