I may have mentioned an example on here before where my husband procured one of these as you call them, impoverished, a job. It paid $15/hr with full benefits. The person turned it down - his reason being he did better on welfare. There was no physical or mental reason that this person could not work. It was a choice! No one was holding him back but himself.
About women's pay, again, another generalization on your part. There are many reasons why women may not be getting paid as much. For example, my husband and I work in the same profession. He always got paid more than I did but for good reason - one, he was in a management position and I was not, and two, he worked a lot more overall hours than I did. Any place that I have worked there was a pay range based on experience, never saw one based on gender. Hourly wages were the same for both. Overall my pay would not end up being the same as my male counterparts because I took time off for maternity leave and childcare.
My point is you can't just make generalizations about these sorts of things, anymore than one can make generalizations about certain groups of people. There are too many varying factors involved.
Btw, what was this thread about again?

I'm sorry, but I just have to laugh.
You start out by totally mis-characterizing what I said about poverty (where did I say ALL anything?

) and totally ignored what I said about women's pay and made up your own excuses..
