I became good friends with the retired Deputy Chief of the State Police and he was a young patrolman...when the New Mexico Penitentiary riot occurred.

During one of our many rounds of golf together, he mentioned that the things that were done to some of the inmates, by other inmates, using blow torches...would stay with him the rest of his life.
