Here are a few more. Many are shots of the architecture, as we were visiting my daughter who is majoring in historic preservation and loves the brownstowns.
I like the reflection of the older buildings in the glass in picture 7. Picture 4 is one of the new 'water sculptures' around Manhattan - notice the Statue of Liberty in the background. And I couldn't resist a picture of my old apartment building on the corner of 4th Pl and Court Street (last photo). Hanley's (the oldest bar in Brooklyn - 1874) is still on the street level, with it's mahogany, brass and marble bar and original tin ceilings. The outdoor patio area with tables was our front yard, or what we referred to as the "aerie way."
Regarding Coney Island, my first roller coaster ride was on the Cyclone at age 5, a family tradition. We also rode the Steeplechase horses and the famous Parachute jump. I took Mr. Travel there for the 1st time two years ago to see a Cyclones game, eat at the original Nathan's and ride the Cyclone, but I believe that 2008 is it's last season before it is dismantled, so you may wish to plan a trip there soon!
