After 45 years of working with everything from IBM mainframes to PCs and just about everything in between, I use a Chromebook 99.99% of the time. It comes up in 30 seconds, never gets a virus or malware. It has a spreadsheet and word processor that is compatible with MS Excel and Word.

Yes, it only works online, but then most of us are online most of the time anyway. I do all the online stuff, like banking, FB Twitter, etc.

No, it can't run MS programs, but newer Chromebooks have more apps that can do most of what those programs do.

I have a PC (running Windows 7), which I see not needing in the next year or two, since I only use it about once a month or so.
