Just because there are no reported cases of this dog flu in the area, that is not a reason not to vaccinate your dog.

Dog owners, and I include myself, are not scared. A responsible dog owner will do the right things for their pet as a potential preventive or certainly, to lessen the effects of the illness, if contracted.
