It's true that Fenney only has one rec. center just like the other villages north of here, as the new villages are built down here there will be more of them just like up north. It is nice that we have our own restaurant and bar which I believe is a first for a rec. center and this fall the hours will be extended into the late evening. Phase one is well under construction and has a ton of lakes and ponds allowing for many homes to be waterfront including villas, south of Fenney way there is a huge amount of natural areas, woods, springs, lakes and unspoiled areas that will be here forever. Having all this water and nature is very refreshing. The first two golf courses will be open this fall as well as the putt and play course and a catch and release fishing area. Softball fields, dog parks, air gun ranges are all on the way. The first sport pool area is complete and the Blue Heron neighborhood pool is also open. The nature walk is near completion and should be open soon and there are already miles of paved walking trains available in both park like setting as well as in full sun along Fenney Drive. I would assume that the negative posts here are an attempt to sway people away from homes here and if that were to happen the quiet serenity here would last forever but there is no chance in H___ that these home will not sell rapidly, this area has been well thought out and is a remarkable addition to The Villages. The only negative we have found is the distance we have to travel for shopping, 5 miles to the nearest Publix and 10 to Walmart, that will change soon. It's also only 5 miles to Paddock Square with only two stoplights between here and there, one at 44 & 301 and the other just before the entrance to the square and we are nearer to Sumter Landing that those in the northern villages are. Travel wise it is 2 miles to the Turnpike interchange, 60 minutes to Kissimmee, and 1 hour and 45 minutes door to the beach at New Smyrna. There have been a lot of comments about being near the Federal Prison in Coleman, there is a greater chance for all of TV to have a sink hole incident than there is to have a prisoner escape, the prison is not a concern. We saw our first large alligator just this evening, that is a bit of a concern but there are systems in place to take care of them if they become a problem. Don't be afraid to buy down here, this is the future of TV.

Thanks for letting us what living in Fenney is like. I am so confused as to why there are so many negative comments about living there and wanting others not to buy. So many concerns about something that does not effect those who choose not to go there.
Its just amazing on how everything is progressing there, and am so glad you are enjoying the new village. Keep us updated on things, we drive down every couple of weeks and as always impressed on what the developer is doing to make our life great.
