They're "dependent" for several reasons...they may be landlocked with no ports, have no major cities, no major industry, no tourism...there are lots of reasons.
Education...you're kidding right? You think the minority majority in those "blue states" are more educated than the mostly white people in the "red states"?
You think California, Illinois, New York are more "successful in their social, economic, and civil cultures"? Really? Better than the "red states"? No...I disagree. Illinois is broke, California is broke, New York is broke...the "red states" may get a higher percentage of federal money...nut overall, they're better off financially than the "blue states".

Demographics make the state. How much the federal government "gives a state" has nothing to do with how "successful" that state is. People are moving OUT of many of the "blue states" and moving into the "red states"...because the "blue states" are minority infested sh!t holes to live in.
