The first house I remember, we shared with two other families. We had the front living room, dining room and bedroom, and basement that had the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen had a Kelvinator that ran by putting a quarter in it every day. A boy's house down the street had a TV that we used to sit in front of watching the Indian test signal until Howdy Doody came on at 5:30. After Howdy, more Indian.
When I was seven, we bought a house by ourselves - a converted four car garage.
