Zummy, I've had doggie doors in my sliders for at least the past 15 years if not more. Mine, however, weren't easy to take in and out, they were more stationery, so it was difficult to clean the total slider window and sometimes looked unsightly. Good to make sure you can easily remove it.

I didn't pay much for mine, probably under $150 and the replacement flaps are easy to find also. I have trained many of my new puppies easily to go outside and do their duty rather than do it on my carpet. And, the older dogs always train the new guys how to use it. Works wonders.
