I guess I just don't get the argument that because of a belief that the previous administration was severely flawed, it is better to have a philandering, egotistical, and poorly prepared individual to lead this country than it would have to to support a candidate that represented the best of American ideals?

Are you suggesting that the Republican Party couldn't find someone of strong moral character with conservative credentials that could have been a good or even great national leader?
