We had been at war with Japan just before that happened.. I was a little, little girl but I remember that people were afraid, not paranoid, but afraid. They were afraid of German descendants too. I was a German descendant. You cannot start painting history differently later on. It happened. People were afraid. Now people are not. Your statement above is flawed, if you had lived then, you would have felt the same fear.
