Even though they are small pieces of ice cubes, it shoots large amounts out at one time...so it is a huge mess to clean up the floor. We try to use a bowl to catch the ice as it is shooting out, but most of the time the motor just keeps shooting them out. We have had the service people out numerous times and they can not fix it. One repairman replaced the ice maker. Same problem, didn't change it at all. The last one said that there is nothing wrong with the ice maker, it is just a poor design. We tried dealing directly with Samsung, but got no where. Finally gave up and just live with it. Just don't understand how they could screw up an ice maker. Refrigerator ice makers have been around for decades and I have always had good luck with them...never had one that was a problem. So, why is it that a a big successful company like Samsung can't get it right! and, won't do anything to correct it.

Excuse me but i try to find humor in most things and so, I am playing out your scenario in my mind and it would make a great Lucille Ball comedy skit
I hope you folks find a solution to your problem
