Galvanized pipe will twist like a pretzel.

Steel pipe, buried at least three feet in the ground, with the pipe filled with concrete, is the standard to stop a truck.

If you made the foolhardy decision not to bury the bollards, but rather to simply bolt them to the concrete, you wouldn't have security.

And...........that's only the cost of the bollards. Getting them sunk into the ground by cutting hundreds of holes into concrete is very labor intensive and expensive.

Has anyone mentioned how unattractive a great mass of bollards looks? Yuk.

Why was the nightclub in Orlando targeted? Perhaps because it catered to homosexuals, a group that is particularly despised by Radical Muslim Terrorists.

I doubt that a community of old geezers gets much attention from Terrorists seeking targets.
