[QUOTE=Brucernelson;1437121]We recently bought a new courtyard villa. The gutters on the house drain to the concrete patios and then run down to the small amount of grass. The concrete patio is beginning to get a bit discolored as a result. Is it permissible to cut through the concrete and bury a pipe from the gutter which will run down to the existing drain in the backyard grass? Just wondering if anyone has done something about this and what it was. Or did you just leave it as is?
Hi consider this: Number one,,,,,,,,,,,, always, yes always get that water away from your foundation. And yes, have a concrete guy cut a strip out, then put in a drain pipe from the downspout to the lawn or to a safe spot AWAY from your foundation. You can backfill over the drain pipe, be sure it has a positive slope and then you can brick over it or do exposed concrete as a filler. Or get a good handyman and if he says the water next to the foundation is not a problem, then tell him to leave. I cannot give you advice, not licensed in Florida so in reality, I am only telling you what I do and have done.
