I found an article titled "The Rise of the Crazy Ants" along with a magnified picture. It was hideous! Hideous! I tell you, HIDEOUS!
I learned that crazy ants are not only crazy but they are tough. They rumble with fire ants and win! Entomologists have observed that crazy ants produce an antidote that they rub on themselves before they battle with fire ants.
And that stuff you said about invading electronics is all there in the article, too. They also nest in pipes and the inner workings of cars.
The article says they are native to Argentina and Brazil but made their way to Texas and have been moving right along. They don't fly. They are stowaways.
Well, that is probably more than anybody wanted to know about these creatures. But if you are still reading this post and you want to know more -- or just want to be totally creeped out -- google crazy ants and Scientific American and you will find the article that was my source.
And, OP, you might want to think about calling an exterminator.
