1. The Confederate statues being removed were placed there in the 1920s during the Jim Crow era. Even Robert E. Lee said there should be no monuments to that war, and there weren't until racism again raised its ugly head.
2. In the same vein, "In God We Trust" was added in 1957, removing the original motto, "E Pluribus Unum". So which one was "erasing America's history"?
3. This is not the "Obama effect on steroids" it is the Trump effect which has unleashed racist attacks at an unprecedented level because Trump's followers feel liberated with a leader who thinks as they do.
4. I am interested in what you think America's "core values" are. My core values are that everyone, black or white, Muslim or Christian or Hindu, has equal rights and opportunities. That particular "core value" is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.
