Re: The Quest for the Dress
Good morning Susi and SS,
I had just logged out after having threatened myself that I would indeed turn to stone if I sat here in this kitchen and wrote anything at all this morning.
But then I saw your posts.
Has Boomer actually backed herself into a corner? For a real picture? Time will tell. She did tell you all just yesterday that she looks like that tall thin blond wearing the dress in the picture. Will she allow herself to get caught in a lie?
And SS, darn you. Last night, you would have laughed so much. I was actually standing in front of a full length mirror, having put on a skirt so I could see how my knees looked. Oh, SS, it's not like it used to be. What is? The legs were the last to go. They were never long, but they had their good points. One time some guy in geology class long ago hit on me bc of my legs he said. And they were not long. Still aren't. But I think they said goodbye while I was not watching. What didn't?
And, SS, I got so sidetracked here last night that I forgot to watch that show with Judd Hirsch that somebody told me about and I think it may have been you.
OK, this is an apology to anybody who got this far in this stream of consciousness writing I am doing here this morning. I just looked at "Preview" and saw that I had managed to turn most of it to italics while trying only to turn "Taxi" to italics. If I begin to obsessively edit this thing, I will either hit some stupid key and lose it or I will never get out of here. So anyway, that's what happened and it is all written so I might as well send it. For what it's worth. And if I have now turned the entire rest of this red, too, please forgive me.
It was in a thread somewhere where I was shamelessly confessing those loves from afar, the ones that I have for unattainable men. (Let's see: Charles Kuralt. Carl Hiaasen. Judd Hirsch, but only (so far) as Alex on [i]Taxi.[i] And now I am finding that T. Boone is looking pretty good. And Mr. Boomer has been gone for almost a week. And I have been staying up late. And I think Frazier's dad is starting to look a little hot to me on that old sitcom that is on the Lifetime channel way late.) Anyway, SS, I think it was you who told me. And I did catch Judd at the very end when I remembered last night. And he is looking still cute. So next week I will tune in and see if he still talks to me good, too.
Mr. Boomer really needs to get back here.
(Hey, Good Morning, HB. I just went to send this and I saw you there. Before I go, I have to tell you something. I honestly had not, until last night, put you together with Sidney. I, for some reason, had not figured out that your Sid was our Sid. Duh! I thought in that "Decorating Trends" thread that somebody was confused and thought his house was your house. Helloooo, someone was confused. It was me.
I do stuff like that a lot. I miss stuff. I only realized recently that the Fed Ex logo has an arrow in it. Now, I keep pointing it out on all the trucks that go by. I am beginning to bore people with it.
And I gotta tellya something else. I did not know, until I was a grownup, that prunes started their lives as plums. I guess we all did.
So anyway, say hello to Sid for me.)
And I really must get out of here today.
Boomer in the Morning
