That's why a handyman is so popular in TV. We had Tim 'the toolman' Miller put knobs on all the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. We used hand pulls that had 2 screws, he charged $100. We bought the pulls at Lowes, about $110 total, they look like the picture below. We also had him put a peep hole in the front door, our CYV doesn't have a sidelite window. We also had him install aluminum pull down attic steps in the garage and plywood flooring in the attic, parts and labor $290. We also had him move all the shelving in the master closet up a foot and then he installed a duplicate set of shelves about a foot below the old location, filled in any holes and painted over. Essentially we doubled our master closet, parts and labor $150. We had him put a shelf over the washer and dryer for storing detergent, etc, parts and labor $40. These are 2011 prices, Tim does attic steps that are wood instead of aluminum for about $100 less but since attics can get so hot we felt it worth the upgrade. Tim also does garage floors with the fancy sprinkles and paint, but we skipped that, I think it's nice looking but somewhat dangerous whenever it's wet the floors get slick. We didn't have any of those problems with our kitchen cabinets. In fact we wanted a white kitchen and by the second year we had our kitchen refacted in white, cost $4800.
