I remember I was at my Dad's house watching television, I'm pretty sure it was the Saturday night before Labor Day. Around 9:00-10:00 pm a news bulletin came on TV that Princess Diana was injured in a car accident. Then probably about an hour or two later, the news report came on that she had passed away.

I was in shock...Princess Diana was 9 months younger than me, and she was gone. I remember getting up at 4:00 a.m. to watch her wedding when I was in college, home for the summer.

I watched her funeral on television. I remember watching Prince William and Prince Harry walking behind her casket. I felt so bad for them. My mom had passed away 3 months before this, and I thought, well at least I had my mom until I was 36. William and Harry had to navigate a lot more years without their mom than I did. It has only been in the last several months that William and Harry have really started speaking more in public about their mom's death, and what impact it had on them.

Rest in Peace Princess Diana . . . you were one of a kind, and you are still missed.
