We had a gathering with our village social group to celebrate Labor Day. Veterans were asked to come forward an applauded by the gathering. We sang My Country Tis........ We pledged Alliances to The Flag...and you know what? Not one person took a knee or sat down. Most placed their hand over their hearts.

Perhaps I am to provincial in my thinking but I believe strongly in patriotism and nationalism because too many good people gave heir blood and treasure to preserve this union. And, because a country without borders is not a country. Internationalism as respects trade is one thing but a united nations in the literal/political sense means something different to me.
