Perhaps I am to provincial in my thinking but I believe strongly in patriotism and nationalism because too many good people gave heir blood and treasure to preserve this union. And, because a country without borders is not a country. Internationalism as respects trade is one thing but a united nations in the literal/political sense means something different to me.

No offense, but Labor Day is certainly NOT a patriotic day. If you are a union member, maybe you think so.
But, I do appreciate the fact that veterans are now being recognized in a positive manner than when we returned from Vietnam. Thank you for that.
