HUGE MEDICAL NEWS! Central Florida Health, the parent of The Villages Regional Hospital and Leesburg Regional Medical Center, has announced plans to expand to the southern end of The Villages. It has under contract 40 acres due south of Brownwood with plans for a 24/7 emergency department and an imaging medical practice. The property also could house additional medical facilities, including the possibility of a golf cart accessible hospital. Discussions include not only the extension of Meggison Road across State Road 44 to the land under contract, but also another multimodal bridge from Brownwood to the future development site.
