I had to do some gator herding today.
Zipping eastward down the path along 466 this evening just before sundown. I was in the section where the path splits into two segments between Bridgeport and Laurel Manor when a small gator shot out of the ground cover between the cart path and the golf course. To avoid hitting it, I had to lock the brakes and literally skidded to a screeching halt. He was determined to get to 466 so I sped down to where the cart paths merged and came back up the other side, heading him off. Through a combination of lizard whispering and alpha dogging, I was able to get him back on the golf course. I hope he stayed there. The funny thing was a little regular sized lizard sat on the top rail of the fence and watched the whole thing. The gator was probably about six or seven pounds...just a little guy, but the whole time I was hoping his daddy wasn't just taking him for a walk.
