Teasing a bit. Apparently it has been a long time since you have driven without power steering and you have gotten into a bad habit. When the vehicle is not moving and you turn the steering what you are doing is sanding rubber off your tires on the road or less so on the grass. Actually on the grass you are unnecessarily damaging the grass with your tires.
