I find it very helpful, not only to newcomers but to those who have been here awhile. I have been here over 17 years and one thing I learned its that The Villages is a dynamic community. Everything is constantly changing, evolving. For example, none of the restaurants in Spanish Springs were the same ones that were there when I moved here. They have gone through multiple owners, changed names, and even have seen more built. Lake Sumter Landing and certainly Brownwood were not even built. With the expansions of Fenny and Pine Ridge and more villages to come, this publication lets everybody know what's going on and what we can look forward to in the future. I heartily disagree with the OP that those that lived here for more than a year or two don't need the information in the book... IMOP!
