Back in 2009 (and actually a bit in 2012) when in this very forum, I confronted a member of the Tea Party on her groups desecration of the flag (flying it upside down, refusing to do anything at anthem, burying it in the ground, replacing it with "don't tread on me") etc, she said the same thing to me about the desecration being done, some here in The Villages actually.

On the old political forum, people actually engaged in conversation and I recall wondering about the disrespect for the flag, in addition to the burning in effigy of a newly elected President, WELL BEFORE HE WAS EVEN INNAUGRATED. So I asked her and she felt strongly she was correct in supporting such actions.

That is what surprised me with the reaction in this, and to me anyway, shows the Trump followers in full form....totally hypocritical in fact, as is he. BUT he knows calling this out and making it an issue surely detracts any attention from what is actually going on.

We are heading into some very dangerous waters in this country.

Our President has no intention of ever trying to make us one America. He is, and has been sowing the seeds of discontent, based on race, ethnicity and religion.

He has the ear of people who don't care what it brings (I sometimes think they are childless or grand children deprived because he and they are sealing the doom of what was a great country, not perfect but one with ideals. They gladly ignore facts, and seriously refer to it as fake news.

This is a white nationalist movement, even to the point of lack of empathy to Puertic Rico full of American citizens who gladly fight in our military.

Someday, it will be serious enough to get the attention of people who refuse to even approach a discussion in issues...they just ignore it.

It will be too late then, I am afraid. Trump is sowing fear and hate, wrapped in our flag, which is the most disgraceful attack on that flag.
