Re: John Edwards Admits To Having An Affair
I agree the people with whom you surround yourself says something, but it has to do with judgement not morals. Keep in mind that I was referring to personal issues, not legal issues. Yes, you do get to vote on who's a company president. If you own stock, mutual fund shares, etc., you get a vote that could eventually impact the decision as to who becomes president of a company. You also "Vote" everytime you do or don't buy that company's product. I do not disagree with your concerns about morality, I, too, have such concerns. I believe infidelity is wrong (my personal belief) and shows bad judgement, lying about it shows really bad judgement. I want my President to show much better judgement. I believe morality is a very personal thing and what is immoral to me may not be immoral to you. If we believe our past Presidents, beginning with G. Washington, didn't have some personal (moral) issues that today would have eliminated them from Presidential consideration, we don't know history or choose to ignore it. I would rather have a President who had/has some (what I consider) personal issues and does a good job as President, than one who is a "Saint" and is a bad manager of the country. I, of course must decide the significance of those personal issues, as must you.
