my friend I hadn't time this morning to analyze what you alleged that I wrote because I was too intrigued and in deep analysis about how you were responding, not once but three times. your choice of words and emoji are quite telling.
In any event Ï said better than half of the signers to the Declaration of Indepenence were
pastors
This information was a recollection I had from an article written sometime ago in th WSJ, in the House of Worship column. the author said 33 of 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence were
pastors
The definition of pastor :a spiritual overseer; especially a clergyman serving a local church or parish.
You use the word clergy in your search and you came back with one
active clergyman signed.
As you can see pastor has a broader definition/connotation and it may explain the different interpretations.
Pastor used in colonial times is somewhat different than today.
It doesn't matter if one or 33 signers were pastors there is ample evidence that the founders understood that god needed to be included they just did not want a "state religion". I don't need to be right but I do want the record to be right for everyone's sake
