Tire marks on driveways and other horrible things.
When we came down with the trailer a couple of months ago to "nest" in our new house in Hadley, we were deluged by people who knocked on the door, pitching their bug service, grass cutting, downspouts etc. I was particularly taken with someone who wanted to finish or stain the driveway and I said that I was new to that kind of thing, people in Cincinnati just left them plain. (And I would like to point out that we don't live in a slum) He looked perplexed and said you will get tire marks! Well there are tiremarks, the hot sun seems to encourage them in Florida, but I am wondering if we are going to be the only kids on the block without a frou frou driveway. It isn't that I am not into decorating, but so far on HGTV there hasn't been a segment on doing your driveway. I have seen some pretty fancy ones and some pavers that are pretty to me, but it isn't on my list of things to do even if we won the lottery. ( I have to remember to buy a ticket) Anyway, is it a southern thing, or a retirement thing, or what. Talk to me about driveways.
