You came to C FL for diving? There's no reefs up here. Not many wrecks. You've got a long drive to dive. I think it's a weak excuse.
I think you got tired of living as a minority. Where do you hail from? How long did you live there? When? I spent 10 years there. BEFORE CA turned into an annex of Mexico. Last time I was there, I thought I was in Tijuana.

Until recently moving to Florida, I'd lived all my life in California. All over....Northern, Southern and Central. Where I lived most recently (over 30 years) was about equal White & Hispanic with a large segment of Asians and a smaller population of Blacks. So instead of running away I worked with, associated with, and lived around actual non-Whites. Most were working hard to make a living just like me.
I'm glad you think you know why I moved to Florida but you're totally wrong. The Villages was one of the places we were considering but proximity to diving is but one reason we chose to live elsewhere. My wife and I both scuba dive and prefer warm water diving. A dive skin or 3 mm wetsuit is a lot less cumbersome than a 7 mm suit plus hood and gloves. Plus the visibility is a lot better than Calif. and we are a lot closer to our favorite dive sites in Cozumel.
