Most times, those who are praised by your group, or if you prefer, folks with like minds, you get from folks who are then praised for their substantive post is a rant that will say "all progressives this" or liberals are this or that. Followed by compliments for being so into issues. I have tried to begin conversations over the past year on Syria, foreign relations, ISIS only to immediately turn into OBama bashing, or Clinton bashing.
Trump is the President. You begin a thread showing me even one attempt at uniting the country, but if you are fair, you must include the divisive comments. He is the leader...he is supposed to try but he does the opposite. Protestors, whomever they are are not "sons of bitches". People with brown shirts marching in the name of Nazi' do not have good people.
It IS all about Trump. HE IS the President...he sets the tone, and he has.
When the President of the United States talks, it should be measured as the entire world will hear every word he says and react. When he accuses his predecessor of wiretapping him, the world listens, when he engages in teen rhetoric with North Korea, the world listens and worries. He is not in a campaign and hasn't been for a year, yet he continues to mock anyone who disagrees with him. He recently called for the resignation of a duly elected US senator (Corker) who happens to head our Foreign Relations because he disagrees, and the President gets support on her for that. I suppose the term loyal opposition is archaic now, or actually any opposition.
He has had many opportunities to at least try . His behavior with the Boy Scouts was beyond deplorable.
How can a political forum avoid this kind of behavior ?
In addition, as a long standing (original member) of the political forum, threads begun about OBama, many from me were certainly met with resistance, but factual or reasoned discussion....not, the media is lying (even in the face of video or exact quotes). Seems you have given total rein to Trump to pick and choose what is truth.
You have to someday come to terms with the fact that he WANTS to control the media and thus his followers. When he says he finds free speech disgusting, and he did, or does what he did with our military and the flag just the other day, that is news. OR would be with any other President, but on this forum, it is ignored.
My bottom line is, if the only answer avaialable is the media lies (WITH NEVER SUBSTANTION) or some diatribe on Clinton or OBama then you are simply avoiding facts.
Have you, in your life, ever heard any other President mouth the false, mean spirited, self serving things that come from our WH ? Actually, you know business....how long would a CEO last talking as he does ? Not long for sure.
This is not a television show. The world listens and they react. There is a reason that over 70% of our own citizens feel he is mentally unfit for office.
How can his actions. Lies, accusations from our Oval Office NOT BE discussed ?
There is no defense of him, thus there is no discussion as the subject is changed.
I am tired of the "media lies"...each time I see that, and this includes you, I ask for examples and never ever get one. I am speaking of news, not commentary. Having a President so unstable, he sees fit to PERSONALLY attack anyone who disagrees is unnerving and worthy of discussion.
Oh, if I labeled you, I am truely sorry because I hate labeling, but only react to your support for people who are simply trolls or filthy mouthed posters. I say SUPPORT, because you suppress your criticisms of them, actually praise the labeling of some who simply chant..."all progressives bad" or refer to them as a libtard. I used to be a Republican, but from here I have no idea what the Republican Party stands for,. It is surely not morals, standard, small government, lack of government intervention as it used to be, and it appears from the "discussion" on here they are simply anti anything or anybody who even hints at disagreement with the President.
