I have been a Brighthouse customer since moving to the villages in 7/2013. I got sick and tired of seeing ads for bundle prices less than 90$ while I was paying over 200$ monthly. I was told that if I put my wife's name on the account that I could get the new account deal. When I called and inquired about this the CS rep said that I could not do that. She asked me if I could hold for a few minutes and she would get back to me. After about 10 to 15 minutes she came back on the line and said that she could give me a rate of 166$ including taxes. I said sign me up. She told me all they had to do was replace the modem. As an added benefit my internet would go to 100 mps. Today they came and the tech said that the work order was to remove my 2 dvrs, and my 2 dta boxes and nothing about the modem. I told the tech that he was to replace the modem which he did as well as the dta boxes. The dvrs remained. While he was still there I checked the internet speed on 2 different computers and the best i got was 38.7 mps. When i questioned him about this he told me to call customer service. I called and they made an appt. for 12-2 pm today for a tech to check for the problem. In the mean time, my wife is watching the tv and notices that some of our channels were missing. I called CS again and they told me in order to get the channels that I did not have that I would have to go to the next tier for an additional 12$ a month. I asked for a break down of my services as they stood. It tallied 198$ and not the 166$ that we had discussed the day before. The CSR said that no one could change the prices. To top it off, the tech showed up and asked me whether i was wifi or hardwired as he came through the door. If i was hardwired i would get the 100mps, since i was wifi, if i got 35 to 40 mps that was all i was going to get. Needless to say, I am no longer happy with Spectrum.
