Halloween has taken a beating from both sides.

In our area of Ohio, the extreme religious right was effective in stopping all reference to Halloween in Schools, calling it "The Devils Holiday".

Halloween is and always has been so much fun for kids and adults alike. I read somewhere that more money is spent on it than on Christmas. (That doesn't sound right, but it stuck in my mind)

I can't see how a "Harvest Festival" is as much fun as wearing our costumes to school..........but heaven knows how people would send kids in costume these days.

The world does seem to be going to hell in a handbasket.
