Graciegirl, now that I am up off the floor and have dried the tears running down my face... (haven't laughed that hard in a long time), I know what you mean about a back problem and I'm tall. I love the elevated perch. We have installed them in our last two homes here in the Midwest and grab bars are probably pretty easily installed too. The biggest issue with accessible/handicap homes are steps for entrances and hallways/doorways. Unfortunately, I have a brain injured nephew in a wheelchair and my sister always advises people building homes to plan for the handicap features. It's easier at the building point and saves one from having to move if s*** happens.
