Owens Corning had a major problem several years ago with defective seal strips. Many roofs needed to be redone. Homeowners had a hard time getting OC to pay for more than just replacement shingles. These roofs needed to be stripped all the way down to sheeting and start over. The cost of the labor was much more than the cost of replacement shingles.
