OP, a couple of questions, was the oven on when this happened? If on was it possible whatever you were cooking splashed on the glass? I agree it could have been defective glass, a call to Whirlpool would be your best first step, as that is what home warranty will refer you to anyway. If the food splashed on the glass you may be out of luck, no idea if the glass is warranted for that type of occurrence. glad you were not hurt.
