Re: any one use the relocation specialists from the villages to sale home
My experience with the relocation service was not good. A year and a half ago we moved from Tampa to The Villages. The service sent me three moving companies to quote on move. All three were very high and I arranged for a local mover to move my household goods to the Villages, put in storage for three weeks and then unload at the new house. Cost of this three part move was about one third the cost quoted by the movers suggested by the relocation service. The real estate agent service was just as bad. First they sent a broker to us located on the south side of Tampa and we were located on the far north side, a full hours drive away. Then we did not hear from the relocation service for about two weeks. In the meantime I called a local realtor which has a reputation for high sales in our area. I signed the exclusive with that realtor. Then the Relocation Service department called me and asked if we had decided on one of the Three realtors they sent to us. I informed her only one contacted me and that one was entirely unsatisfactory. She then asked me who I had signed with and then said that was one of the three she had sent to me. I told her it was too late as I did not want to wait for her call to me two weeks late and we had gone ahead on our own. The person from the Relocation Service then called my realtor and demanded she get her portion of the commission because they originally recommended this realtor to us. In summary, the relocation service was useless to us. We did everything ourselves and saved money. Everyone should be aware that the relocation service gets a commission on every service they send to us. Someone pays for this. Guess Who? Ray
