It’s a classic example of unintended consequences and I think VT is probably right that the manufacturers are not there as far as dealing with it. My guess is that their idea of a fix will be to list an old-fashioned key as an expensive option. I have never liked my keyless entry. (I think I already said that.)
Later this afternoon when I was telling someone about this, she said a woman who was walking in the park left her purse in the car and it was gone when she got back, with no evidence of break-in. She thought she had locked her car.
